The history

Brian Holm has always liked the French expression ‘La Flamme Rouge’. It marks that a cyclist is riding under the red flag and has one kilometer to the finish line.
The body is empty, the teeth are gritted, and the reserves are dug deep. The stretch hurts, but you have to push through because that determines whether you win or lose.
According to Brian Holm, the same can be said about a cancer course. For the cancer patient, the last kilometer is infinitely long. This is where the very last reserves must be found, and a helping hand can make a big difference.
“You can feel unbelievably alone the moment you or someone close to you is affected by the disease, and your everyday life suddenly collapses. The idea behind ‘La Flamme Rouge’ is positive awareness of an otherwise gloomy subject like cancer. And to say that you are not the only one,” says Brian Holm.

La Flamme Rouge was founded quite simply from the desire to be a helping hand. All work in the association is 100% voluntary.

the team behind

The supporters are found all over the world, and with ambassadors such as the world-renowned cyclist Sir Mark Cavendish and the designer Sir Paul Smith (who has also designed a very special jersey for La Flamme Rouge) together with historical collabs with LeFix, Michał Kwiatkowski, Tom K and  Mikkeller Beer … and more, there is a lot of attention for the association.

It increases sales when such big names back it up, and it’s a huge advantage for us. After all, it gives more money to support. When you are so ill, a single good experience can mean a lot.

La Flamme Rouge activities are organized in various places in the country and they also support the organization PACT, which aims to promote sporting activities for cancer patients.

“Our customers buy everything from a single pair of socks to a whole new wardrobe. And since we have clothes for all age groups, the customer base is broad. Some buy because they want to support a good cause and others, for example, companies, buy clothes for their employee and also support the good cause. And that is the essence of it all: Our wish is that people get a good product and at the same time support a good cause,” concludes Crit-holder: Ralf Ritter.
